Sally Bassett
Tring, Herts
The essence of Sally Bassett's work is its energy, vitality and colour.  Sally draws her inspiration from the sea, the landscape and wild flowers.  Her work progresses in several mediums including acrylic paint on canvas and board, multi-media collage on paper, charcoal on paper and silk dye on silk. Her art work commences with observational drawings, gouache sketches and notes collected in a small sketchbook which she always carries with her. Sally divides her time between Mousehole in the West Country and Aldbury, a small village in the Chilterns. After a number of years teaching Sally spent five years on a Fine Art honours degree course which she completed successfully in 1994. Sally’s work includes wild and traditional seascapes in acrylics and mixed media, landscapes inspired by the Chilterns and the changing seasons. Her work may follow a walk in a field of daffodils, bluebells or poppies or be inspired by a windswept hawthorn bush covered in red berries.
